Primal is the latest in a long series of farcry games.

A series of games that have always blown me away because of the awesome sense of freedom the games give you, in a living breathing world filled with a mixture of terrains and many different species of animals including rare and unique animals.

The graphics are cutting edge and every blade of grass and plant you walk through are effected  and can be seen waving in the wind.

Crafting plays a huge part in this game, which really adds to the sense of survival, as you need to gather the necessary ingredients in order to craft spears, arrows and more allowing you to survive.

The story evolves around tribes in a diverse environment, each fighting for their right to the land.

Fight for your tribe and expand your village, gathering new villagers that unlock new skills and perks, upgrade their huts to increase the reward.

A key feature of the game is the ability to tame wild animals and use them in battle or just to gain an advantage by sending an owl ahead to scan for enemies, mark them and plan your attack.

This Farcry is vastly different to the others, as you play the part of a tribesman, battling with spears and bows rather than firearms, the lack of explosives etc really does give the game a breath of fresh air and has given the game a new lease of life, which was very much needed as nearly every previous game in the series was based on guns and vehicles in the modern day.

Because of this, the new game really contrasts with earlier games in the series.

I think it deserves a high score but its not perfect,

I would like to see more player NPC interaction in terms of relationships, I would also like more tribes, some of which are not tangled up in the war, this could lead to things such as trading.

I am definitely impressed by the diversity in animals within the game, and love to see them interacting with each other and engaging in hunting etc.

The game feels very real thanks to things like random events, for example stumbling across a small scale battle between two tribes.

I think the 4.3 stars is fair.
