Fallout 4, for me has to be the best game of all time, let alone the year.
Sheer detail wins here.
Throughout the open world shooter you find objects on tables, shelves and other surfaces. unlike other games, everything has a use or purpose, whether its taking fuses out of alarm clocks to make an upgrade for your weapon or just using duct tape to get adhesive to upgrade your armor or make a turret.
The moving story line starts pre nuclear blast in your characters family home.
Shortly after reserving space in a nearby bunker, you are forced to retreat to it, you ,along with your family go into suspended animation, during this 200 year period, a group of folk, enter the vault and kill your wife then kidnap your son.
The story continues after that point on a mission to find your son,
There are other “side stories” to follow during your time in the nuclear wasteland.
Fallout 4 allows you to play the way you want. you can leave the interactive conversations whenever you like.
It even allows you to create and run your own settlement, building defenses and farms for the inhabitants and assigning them daily jobs, even running trade routes between them.
Then help them out with other issues they may have, and even create trading routes between your settlements.
This is why I love Fallout 4, it gives you the freedom to do what you like. (and suffer the consequences)
The size of the open world is mind blowing, with thousands of locations scattered across its hills valleys and plains, including buildings that you can raid and clear from hostiles.
While travelling the wasteland, everything feels so very atmospheric. especially while travelling with one of the many companions you can meet. including a dog, a synth and many humans., who all help out in their own unique ways and many of which are romance able.
I would love to see the ability to join a friend in their world on this game, sadly this has not been introduced, nor do I know if it will ever be.
The game is huge! i have played for a long time and still am finding new locations and quests to do.
This is a 5 star game.
